Castle's Carbon Reduction Initiative

The Castle Group makes every effort to protect and improve the environment in all areas of the Company’s operations, by seeking continual improvement of our environment and employee safety and health as they relate to our products and operations. This is part of our commitment to preserve and enhance the environment, safety and health of our employees, customers, and neighbours. The development and implementation of this policy is shared between the Castle Computer Services Board of Directors and its employees. Our objectives are:
- To meet and, where appropriate exceed all relevant UK, European and International
legislative and other regulatory requirements and agreements; - Take measures to prevent pollution from our activities and minimise their
environmental impacts; - To consider environmental impacts as an essential element when evaluating new
projects, products, and operations; - To continuously work to decrease our use of energy and materials, and to decrease
the amount of waste we generate, recycle waste that is generated, and properly
dispose of waste that cannot be recycled. This continuous process results in small
changes in all areas annually; - To encourage conservation of energy, water, and natural resources through
increased efficiency and the introduction of new technology; - Where possible, reduce the need for movement of both people and goods and
encourage the use of car sharing and alternatives to the private car; - To provide employees with a better understanding of environmental issues and the
Company’s commitment, policies, and programs to preserve and improve the
environment; - To work in partnership with our contractors, suppliers and others to encourage
continuous improvement in environmental performance and practices; - To review and, where possible, improve our performance each year with positive
action in any areas of non-compliance.
The Board of Castle Computer Services will ensure that the environmental policy is clearly understood, implemented, maintained, and communicated at all levels in the organisation. Senior Managers shall take the environmental policy into consideration in the development of objectives and targets. At Castle, we have implemented a number of environmentally friendly improvements within the Company under our Carbon Reduction Initiative program. Following a review of environmental policies and an independent review of processes, we have become dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint through a number of measures and have a Green Team of employees to implement the plans and encourage suggestions from all employees. We have started on a process to achieve environmental management system accreditation to ISO14001, recognised as the international standard for environmental management systems.
