Castle Computer Services - Our People

Core Finance Applications

Infor SunSystems

It is the intelligent flexibility at the heart of SunSystems and its ability to thrive in complex, changing environments, which makes it the ideal choice for a broad spectrum of organisations. SunSystems delivers value to both Commercial organisations and Public Sector bodies, boasting customers in almost every business sector around the world, including in the UK:- Financial Services, Housing Associations, Oil & Gas, Retail and Education.

Fortuna Dynamics

Developed by Castle for the Furniture Retail sector, Fortuna Dynamics is built upon Microsoft Dynamics NAV. This provides the best of all worlds; Castle's expertise in the Furniture Retail sector, our expertise in software development and the functionality and familiarity of Microsoft Dynamics.

Fortuna Dynamics is a product that moulds to your business, delivering incredible value on the sales floor, in the back-office, customer services, marketing, warehouse and deliveries. It provides highly efficient processes that put customers at the centre of the business. This is also available as a Software as a Service (SaaS) option, which allows customers to rent the use of the software from a world-class data centre.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV Wholesale, Distribution and Logistics

Castle has a long and successful history in this sector, which has enabled us to develop Microsoft Dynamics NAV into a fully optimised system. The sector is characterised by a need for automation of processes, high data volumes via EDI, a requirement for instantaneous insight into business information and intelligent optimisation of resource deployment, from picking and packing to delivery. The Castle solution provides all of this and more thanks to our integrated business analysis solution, QlikView, which is part of the package. As with the Fortuna product, this is also available on a hosted pay-as-you-go Software as a Service (SAAS) basis.

Pegasus Opera 3

Recent investments made to the Pegasus Software and Infor's ongoing commitment to this product makes it ideal for many SME organisations. While the price point may seem lightweight, it has the scalability, analysis capabilities and functionality of a large scale product. In addition to the generic software modules, Pegasus Opera 3 also has industry specific functionality developed for the Construction and Service Management sectors.

QlikView

QlikView is an integral part of all Castle Application solutions. It amalgamates data from multiple sources, interprets it and holds it in-memory for superfast interrogation. What makes QlikView such an important part of Castle's product set is the simplicity and speed with which it solves complex problems and gets to the heart of the matter. If you have a question you wish to ask of your organisation's data, relating to information stored on disparate systems, you would usually need help from a highly trained data analyst. With Qlikview, you can find the answer in seconds and then interrogate that answer in many different ways, on the fly. It really is that easy!

Technical Services

Server Virtualisation

Server Virtualisation enables customers to maximise the utilisation of their hardware and protect their business in the event of a failure, protecting them from day-to-day technical problems as well as if disaster strikes. Ease of management also contributes to the massive cost savings that can be made. Cost savings come from reduced power requirements, less space, less cooling and less hardware.

Server Virtualisation can benefit all organisations. Obviously larger organisations see larger cost savings, but the business continuity benefits are relevant and affordable to small businesses too.

Desktop Virtualisation

The main reasons behind organisations considering Desktop Virtualisation are ease of management, increased security, cost savings and a better service to users. Thin client terminals can be used instead of PCs. These last much longer, cost less and consume only a tenth of the power of a desktop PC. All applications and data are managed centrally, providing unprecedented data security and manageability.

Coupled with server Virtualisation, this provides high availability of resources as systems are protected in the event of a failure. It also allows for much better security and ease of system maintenance.

The first step to take is Castle's vDesktop Readiness Assessment. This assesses your IT infrastructure and desktop usage over a period of time (usually a month) to enable us to make specific recommendations regarding the optimum configuration of system and products.

Storage Virtualisation

Organisations like to get the most from the storage facilities they have; and ensure maximum efficiencies with regard to the purchase of new storage devices and media. Storage Virtualisation is the pooling of physical storage from multiple network storage devices into what appears to be a single storage device that is managed from a central console. Without this, the management of multiple storage devices can be tedious and time-consuming.

Storage Virtualisation helps the storage administrator perform tasks over multiple storage devices, such as of backup, archiving, and recovery; more easily and in less time. This is done by disguising the actual complexity of the Storage Area Network (SAN); you can identify and migrate hot spots within your infrastructure to the best performing storage, to meet the demands of your business.

Castle Cloud Computing

There are various shades of cloud computing, ranging from public cloud services used by social media applications, such as Facebook, where you don't even know what continent in which your files are stored; through to private cloud computing provided by Castle. This enables customers to run their applications from a secure world-class data centre, managed by Castle, providing high performance computing, business continuity, mobile access and unprecedented scalability. Castle can provide private cloud hosted data services and help customers to set up their own private clouds.

DataGuard Data Protection

The DataGuard service can operate in two ways. It replicates your entire server environment, enabling us to provide a high quality Disaster Recovery Invocation service; and it also works alongside our Finance Application solutions, where it delivers an added layer of security through testing and validating data on a regular basis, to allow it to be recovered swiftly in the event of a disaster.

Managed Services

Castle's IT Managed Services are both innovative and proactive. The Castle Watchdog system combines constant monitoring of the operating parameters of your servers and hardware with environmental monitoring of your server room; providing constant measurement of the operating parameters of your servers and hardware. The Watchdog system automatically alerts our 24/7 support service if anything is not as it should be, so that we can get it resolved before it becomes a problem.

Combined with regular service reviews, the time we put into understanding your infrastructure and your strategic IT objectives, we aim to become a trusted partner to your organisation, not just a service provider; and our approach is to have an emphasis on prevention rather than just cure.
