CASTLE DEFIES MARKET WITH RECORD SALES
20 February 2009 Leading Scottish software and IT services company, Castle Computer Services, has achieved further growth in 2008 with record sales in the last quarter of the year.
Figures for last year show that the company racked up sales of GBP5.7 million – an increase of nearly GBP0.5 million on a turnover of GBP5.3 million in 2007 and an increase of 26% over 4 years. Staff levels have also grown from 55 in 2007 to 63 today.
Despite the recessionary market, the business saw unprecedented sales of GBP1.6 million in the fourth quarter of the year.
Alan Quinn, Managing Director at Castle Computer Services commented:
"2008 was the best year in the company’s history. We achieved ambitious growth targets in an extremely challenging and competitive market. Because of the economic downturn, we are finding many organisations are keen to cut costs. This has resulted in them prioritising the restructure of their IT infrastructure to maximise their return on investment in technology. This has led many of these organisations to choosing virtualisation products. As the first Scottish VMware accredited consulting partner and having implemented some of Scotland’s largest virtualisation projects, Castle is in a strong position to satisfy that continued demand.
"There can’t be many businesses that achieved a record growth in the last quarter of 2008 and we are seeing the trend continue with a strong start to 2009. Our continued growth and success is a testament to the expertise and creativity of our staff and their ability to meet the needs of customers, delivering the highest standards of service at all times."
Founded in Edinburgh twenty six years ago, with additional offices in Bellshill and Aberdeen, Castle has become one of the UK’s leading providers of accounting software and IT services.
Castle employs 63 staff, supporting over 500 customers throughout the UK and abroad. The company has become one of the UK’s leading providers of accounting and finance software, VMware virtualisation and data management solutions. This includes hardware supply, implementation, support and business continuity planning.
