Castle’s private cloud solution gives total confidence for QAS COPAK customers

Case Study: IT & Cloud Services

QAS COPAK Limited provides assembly and packing services for manufacturers and distributors along with the extensive warehousing and logistics facilities required to support these activities.

The company operates from Kirkcaldy and Linwood, in Central Scotland, with over 250,000 sq ft of operational space, including HM Customs approved bonded areas and a food standard hygienic packing area.

The company delivers a full ‘one stop’ service, from collection of products and components, through processing and delivery to any specified location.

The management team recognised that the existing IT infrastructure would need a full upgrade in order to meet the needs of an ambitious growth plan.

Ron Forsyth, Company Director said:

“As the company moved forward successfully, it became clear that we needed a fully scaleable IT infrastructure to support our plans for continued growth.  The systems and processes involved in servicing our customers are increasingly sophisticated and security of data and effective disaster recovery arrangements were also key drivers for both QAS COPAK and our customers.”

Castle worked closely with the team at QAS COPAK to review their specific needs and compare the total cost of ownership associated with outsourced solutions, internal management of the data and IT infrastructure. That process resulted in QAS COPAK choosing to partner with Castle in a fully outsourced programme that provides a robust business continuity plan, with data hosted by Castle at its secure data centre and replicated to a second data centre for complete peace of mind.

The solution is fully scaleable, which means the system capacity can be quickly expanded to meet immediate demands whenever required and QAS COPAK is not paying for IT services that they don’t need.

Ron Forsyth continues, “We chose Castle as a partner because they demonstrated a long track record in the market, as well as an enthusiasm to fully understand our needs and work together in partnership.

“We now have an IT infrastructure that is robust, but at the same time flexible enough to meet all our future needs as the business develops. The business continuity and data security arrangements that we now have in place give our customers absolute confidence in the quality and robustness of our systems. We are able to give them that confidence because the new infrastructure greatly reduces the business risks associated with data management.

“The management team can now focus on our core business and achieving our plans for growth, without the distractions that often come from managing IT issues.”

George Strathie, Castle Computer Services added:

“We were able to demonstrate to QAS COPAK that an outsourced partnership approach would deliver best value, while at the same time achieving all of their business needs. They can have absolute peace of mind that their systems are secure and can be recovered in minutes rather than days, or even weeks, in the event of a disaster of virtually any kind.”
