Constructa Dynamics supports McDermott’s growth
Case Study: Microsoft Dynamics
McDermott Building & Civil Engineering have experienced impressive growth in recent years, and much of this is attributed to a core belief in customer service and proactive management.
Investment in software from Castle Dynamics has helped support these practices by increasing efficiency in key operational areas – such as order processing, reporting, document management and financial analysis.
McDermott’s chose Castle Dynamics because of their ability to provide not just a replacement for their existing accounts product, but a solution to a number of key business processes. This solution encompasses functionality that suits the user and the process, so the web is used where it is most appropriate, or Excel is utilised, or SharePoint – whichever provides the user with the easiest and most intuitive access to the system.
The quality and commitment of the consultancy and support teams both during and post implementation has been praised by McDermott’s – who have been confident enough to further invest in and expand the solution to add Microsoft CRM for the sales team.
Dean O’Donnell, the IT Manager at McDermott’s, was the project co-ordinator.
When looking back at the initial reasons for changing systems he suggests that “the key driver for the business was to ensure a fully integrated end-to-end solution, and that is exactly what it does – we can track projects through from estimate to final account in an instant, whereas previously we had hours of data compilation and re-keying to do”.
The theme of improved data enquiry and reporting is present throughout the company – which had been used to re-keying data and manually analysing data. The company creditor analysis was once an afternoon of work is now a just a click away.
When looking to buy a system the company initially narrowed the search down to a number of Dynamics NAV providers – having a definite desire to go with Microsoft and all the benefits that brings, such as seamless integration with Microsoft Office™ and lengthy product roadmap.
From there, the search was narrowed down to Constructa Dynamics as the only construction/civil engineering NAV solution that had a payroll that wasn’t third party and covered all the appropriate commercial management requirements – as well as the expertise in the full Microsoft Business Solution Stack.
