With headquarters in Edinburgh, Newsbase analysts operate all over the world.
Alasdair McKinnon, IT Manager at Newsbase, said:
Newsbase chose Castle to implement a fully managed, hosted service to meet their business continuity needs and achieve greater efficiency and consistency for the organisation.
“The IT infrastructure was varied in terms of both hardware and software, which presented challenges relating to continuing support and business continuity. We operate with a small IT team so wanted a solution that would deliver strong resilience, require the minimum amount of maintenance time and support, whilst remaining scalable to meet the future needs associated with expected continued growth of the business.
“We considered a number of options, such as a single small business server, but after talking to Castle it became clear that a hosted service would best meet our needs and be scalable for the future. We now have consistency across the organisation with everyone working on the same software applications. Staff can now access the system from home or abroad and update information in our CRM in real time, rather than making notes and updating on their return to the office.
“We no longer have to spend time and effort in dealing with separate support providers, as Castle manages this centrally, which allows the IT department to operate much more productively. We also have absolute confidence in Castle’s Disaster Recover invocation process in the event of a disaster. Our systems are replicated to two different locations for added resilience and peace of mind.
“Castle’s proposition was very clear and they were able to demonstrate the expertise and track record to back it up. Their team worked closely with us to ensure the successful delivery of the project.”
