Hosting provides secure and effective solution for Scottish Adoption
Case Study: IT & Cloud Services
Scottish Adoption is a Voluntary Adoption Agency with over 85 years’ experience of delivering adoption services.
The organisation has a proven track record of successfully placing over 3,000 children for adoption and supporting these adoptions through a lifelong commitment to all of the adoptive families.
After reviewing its IT systems, Scottish Adoption identified the need to upgrade the existing infrastructure to better meet their current and future needs. The very personal nature of their work meant that any new solution had to be absolutely secure, while at the same time providing flexibility, as well as improved efficiency and performance.
Castle has worked with Scottish Adoption for several years and recommended that they consider a move to a private cloud, hosted by Castle and delivered as a managed service to meet their objectives. This would replace the existing infrastructure and create a much more flexible, secure environment that allowed remote working.
Margaret Moyes, Chief Executive, Scottish Adoption, said:
“Castle had worked with us for some time, which meant that they had a very good understanding of our needs. On a day to day basis we are guardians of very private and personal information about prospective families and children, so security and continuity of business systems is absolutely vital.
“Managing our IT network could be time consuming and at times challenging, but since we have moved to a private cloud, hosted and managed by Castle, all of the distractions associated with this have been eliminated. Software upgrades are done at source and the system is backed up securely and replicated to another data centre. We have peace of mind that it’s all taken care of for us, so that we can focus on our day to day business and let Castle take responsibility for ensuring that our IT is up to date and working as it should.
“The hosted service allows staff to access the system remotely with the added benefit of looking the same as the desktop screen that they work on in the office. It’s a more efficient approach that is easy to use and scalable to meet any of our future requirements.”
