QlikView brings improved performance for Rockingham Forest Housing

Rockingham Forest Housing (RFH) was formed in 1992 and owns and manages stock in 6 local authority districts; East Northamptonshire, Wellingborough, Kettering, Daventry, Northampton and Corby. This includes shared ownership properties as well as market rented properties.
The organisation manages and maintains its properties to the highest standard, encouraging and providing opportunities for tenant involvement. It monitors performance to maintain and improve those standards and provide equal opportunities across all its activities.
RFH wanted a business intelligence solution that would run over its Omni Ledger housing management system and deliver more powerful, timely performance reports. After a full evaluation process, Castle was chosen to implement the QlikView business intelligence solution to improve reporting, analysis and performance management.
Describing the changes since the introduction of QlikView, Isabel Jekyll, Operations Director at Rockingham Forest Housing, said:
“The time involved in producing reports to measure 47 different KPIs was considerable. We had been spending so much time populating and running reports that were essentially just lists of data which were not effective in managing our performance. We needed to be much more fleet footed as timeliness had become an issue and reports were taking so long that the situation had changed by the time they were available.
“We wanted an effective performance management system that would extend the life of our existing software by at least 5 years and have capacity to keep up with growth in the business.
“The introduction of QlikView has made a significant difference to the business. Our reports are no longer about the data, but actually about what the data tells us. As a result, our performance is better than ever and we have much greater flexibility and responsiveness.
“The simplicity of QlikView and its traffic light system allows managers to see at a glance whether things are going well or if action needs to be taken. It is very user friendly, which means that many more of our staff can use it as it suits all audiences.
“Reports are now timely and the greater visibility of information allows us to identify trends quickly and take appropriate action. They can now ask the right questions and be proactive, allowing time to turn a situation around before it becomes an established issue. It has also been a great help in terms of speaking to contractors about any performance issues that may arise.
“Our teams have much more time now to manage performance more effectively using easy to understand analysis of data.
“Castle worked closely with us during implementation to ensure that any issues that arose were immediately addressed and there was no distraction from day to day business. Even after completion, when we’ve had a query about anything it’s resolved really quickly for us.”
