Secure Business Continuity for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland
Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland (CHSS) is one of Scotland’s leading medical charities. CHSS improves the quality of life for people in Scotland affected by chest heart and stroke illness, through medical research, influencing public policy, advice and information and support in the community.
Across Scotland, more than 14,000 people benefit from the services provided by CHSS. In addition, campaigning initiatives result in greater understanding of the heath issues and how to tackle them. CHSS advice line nurses respond to around 2,500 calls and over 1,000 volunteers work on a range of initiatives to support people with chest heart and stroke illness.
CHSS chose Castle to provide support for its VMware virtual network, after experiencing difficulties with their incumbent supplier. The team at Castle was able to stabilise and optimise the infrastructure so that it operates at the level required to maintain the day-to-day business of the organisation.
As part of a review of business continuity arrangements, CHSS opted to subscribe to Castle’s DataGuard service to ensure protection in the event of a catastrophic system failure. The DataGuard service securely replicates data via encryption and validates and verifies it at a tier 3 secure data centre.
